I care deeply about people. I believe that people are innately good. Sometimes good people struggle with very complex personal or relationship problems.
Shane Adamson, LCSW, CSAT

I’m Shane Adamson, LCSW, and for 30 years, I’ve helped individuals and couples overcome complex challenges and create healthier, more connected relationships.  My passion is to work alongside you to create a better life for you and those you love. I believe it starts with self-love and grows into deeper, more meaningful relationships with yourself and others.

I host the Help for Loving Relationships podcast.  I’ve always been fascinated by the mystery of how two people find each other and fall in love — and what keeps that love strong. But I also know the pain of love breaking apart. My parents’ divorce resulted in family traditions and togetherness fading away. Later, I faced near-divorce twice in my own marriage. These experiences drove me to pursue a master-level understanding of personal growth and the science of stable, loving relationships.

I specialize in marriage counseling, addiction recovery, and trauma healing — with advanced expertise in rebuilding trust after infidelity and helping couples reconnect emotionally and physically. My training includes:

  • Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) – expert in assessing and treating problematic sexual behaviors.

  • APSATS Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) – trained to support partners impacted by betrayal trauma and guide them to heal.

  • Advanced Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – proven methods for helping couples heal and strengthen their bond.

With the above trainings, I lead men’s groups for men struggling with unwanted sexual compulsive behaviors, facilitate Hold Me Tight –couples workshops, and host intensives to heal from trauma over the life span.  I also counsel individuals and couples in my therapy practice who have presenting problems that fit with my specialties.

Three core values shape my work:

  • Transformation – turning pain into peace, joy, and trust again.

  • Best Practices – using proven methods to heal addiction, trauma, and relationship wounds.

  • Simple Solutions – breaking complex struggles into clear, doable steps for lasting change.

Clients often say they feel safe, understood, and hopeful after working with me. That’s my mission — to help you move from struggle to strength, and from heartbreak to a renewed story of love.
