Individual Therapy

Individual therapy or psychotherapy involves working on a one-on-one basis with a therapist to identify problems and to create positive changes in your life.  Clinicians at the Center for Marriage & Family Counseling believe that each client is innately good and has the capacity to heal and overcome complex personal problems.   Counseling is a safe place to get clarity about chronic issues and solutions for complex problems.  People come in for therapy for a number of different reasons including treatment for depression, anxiety, addictions, dissatisfaction with life, eating issues, resolving past trauma, relationship issues, or feelings of emptiness.

Additionally, ongoing psychotherapy is a common and useful means of self-growth and life enrichment. Therapy can help people to resolve barriers which interfere with positive qualities, such as joy, compassion, peace, self-esteem, spiritual connection, and love.

The sessions may focus on current or past problems, experiences, thoughts, feelings, or relationships. This may involve learning new skills, trying out new behaviors, working through old issues, grieving, or letting go of things that no longer serve health or well-being.
